What Is a Name Keychain STL Generator?

A free online tool that turns names into custom, personalized 3D-printable models — keychains, name tags, name plates and signs. Type a name — or a whole list — choose what you want to make, and download a ready-to-slice STL or multi-colour 3MF file. No CAD, no signup, nothing to install.

A whole list in one print

Paste a class list, a team or your wedding guests. Every name gets its own keychain or tag, and they are laid out together on one plate sized to your printer bed.

23 things to make

Keychains and tags, but also glass markers, cake toppers, name stamps, pencil names, pen holders, coasters, table signs, Christmas baubles and a birthday money holder.

Any language

Arabic and Urdu stay joined, Hindi conjuncts are shaped correctly, and Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Cyrillic names work out of the box with 22 bold open-licensed fonts.

Features

Everything You Need for Custom Name Prints

Clean, watertight models with smooth outlines — built for real printers, not just for the screen.

Raised, flush or engraved

Letters can stand out, sit flush in a second colour, or be engraved into the base — with an optional coloured floor so engraved names stay readable.

Two-colour without an AMS

The tool tells you the exact layer height to pause at for a filament swap, so single-extruder printers get two-colour names too.

Multi-colour 3MF

Base, letters and an accent colour arrive as separate parts in Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer and OrcaSlicer — ready for AMS and MMU.

Prints without supports

Holes that run sideways have a pointed top, clips and hooks lie flat, and stands print on their feet — no support material to clean up.

Nothing prints loose

The dot of an i, umlauts, Arabic dots and words spaced apart are joined to the shape automatically, so every name is one solid piece.

Real sizes, real fits

Measured from proven prints: glass clips that grip a rim, pencil holes for hexagonal and round pencils, magnet pockets and slide-in channels with the right clearance.

Tips

Tips for Printing Name Keychains

Small settings that make a big difference to how your names come out.

Choose a bold font

Thin script fonts look elegant but can be fragile at keychain size. Bold fonts like Russo One, Bungee or Cherry Bomb stay strong at 10–12 mm letter height.

PLA for most, PETG for clips

PLA prints crisp letters for keychains, tags and signs. For glass clips and hooks that flex, PETG survives more bending and dishwasher-warm water.

Watch the bed size

Pick your printer’s bed size under Print bed. Long lists wrap onto new rows; if the plate is too big, split the list into two prints.

FAQ

Name Keychain Generator FAQ

Answers to the most common questions about making 3D-printable name keychains and name tags.

What is a name keychain STL generator?

It is a free online tool that turns a typed name into a 3D-printable model. You type one or more names, choose a style such as a keychain, tag or glass marker, and download an STL or 3MF file that opens directly in your slicer — no 3D modelling software needed.

How do I make a name keychain to 3D print?

Type the name, keep the Keychain type, pick a font and a colour, then press Download STL. The tool adds a smooth outline base, raised letters and a keyring loop, and every piece is checked to be watertight so it slices cleanly.

Can I make many name tags at once?

Yes. Type up to 60 names, one per line. Every name becomes its own piece and they are all arranged on one print plate that fits your printer bed, so a whole class, team or wedding guest list prints in one go. The ZIP download gives one STL per name if you prefer separate files.

Can I print two-colour name keychains without an AMS?

Yes — no AMS needed. With raised letters, the tool shows the exact height to pause at — insert a pause or filament change at that layer in your slicer, swap the filament and the letters print in the second colour. With an AMS or MMU, download the 3MF instead: the base and the letters arrive as separate colour parts.

Which languages and alphabets are supported?

Any script your browser can display: Latin, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Greek, Thai and more. Joined scripts such as Arabic and Urdu keep their letters connected, and loose parts like the dot of an i or Arabic dots are joined to the shape so nothing prints loose.

What can I make besides keychains?

There are 23 types: keychains, tags, glass clips and glass hooks, cake toppers, plant markers, fridge magnets, pet tags, Christmas ornaments and baubles, gift tags, desk names, name plates, name stamps, pencil names, pen holders, pen cups, name organizers, letter tiles, desk plates with a holder, table signs, coasters and a birthday money holder.

Can I make name plates and name signs?

Yes. Choose Name plate for a flat plate with raised letters, Desk name for thick letters that stand up on a desk, Plate + holder for a slide-in desk name plate with its own stand, or Table sign for an arched sign with a slotted base. Download a name plate STL for one colour, or a 3MF to print the letters in a second colour.

Can I make a name stamp?

Yes. The Stamp type mirrors the letters so the stamp prints them the right way round, puts them on a 6 mm block and adds a built-in tapered grip — print it upside down, grip on the bed, and it needs no supports. If you prefer, choose a separate knob that plugs into a socket on the back. You can also make a round stamp with a border ring, or upload a logo or drawing to turn it into an image stamp. Print it in TPU for ink stamps, or PLA for clay, cookie dough and wax.

Is it also a name tag generator?

Yes. The Tag type makes rounded name tags with a hole for bags, luggage and zips, and the Pet tag type makes bone-shaped tags for a collar. Like everything here, each name tag STL is generated in your browser and is free to download.

What size should a name keychain be?

A letter height of 10–14 mm with a 2–3 mm border suits most keychains; a 2.4 mm base with 1.2 mm raised letters is strong and quick to print. Long names simply get longer — the outline follows the letters.

How do the wine glass markers attach?

The Glass clip type has a flat spring arm that slides over the rim of a tumbler or mug and grips it, and the Glass hook type hangs over the rim with the name outside. Both print flat in PLA or PETG with no supports. For wine glasses, choose the Stem ring attachment, which snaps around the stem.

Do the pencil names fit any pencil?

Set the pencil size to your pencil: measure across two flat sides for a hexagonal pencil, or the diameter for a round one, and add about 0.3 mm. The hole has a pointed top so it prints without supports, either standing up or flat in two colours.

Which file should I download — STL or 3MF?

STL is the universal format for one colour, or for a filament swap at a set height. 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts (base, letters and an accent colour where used) for Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer and OrcaSlicer. ZIP gives one STL per name.

Are the files free for gifts and selling?

Yes. The tool is free, needs no signup, and the models you create from your own names are yours to print, give away or sell. All built-in fonts are open-licensed (SIL Open Font License).

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. The models are generated entirely in your browser, so the names you type never leave your device.
